What is GEAR UP and what does it mean to you? We are creating a culture of students that say "I want to go to college and here's how I'm going to do it..."

California has TONS of colleges to choose from! If you don't believe us, just visit the State of California website where you can view and contact any one of them on one easy-to-read map! If we've got that many in our state, just imagine how many there are across the country!

What's your dream? Is it to be a doctor? Is it to be an author? Do you want to be an artist, engineer, lawyer, teacher or even our next president? Don't let anyone ever tell you that your dream is impossible. If you take it step by step, you can achieve ANYTHING!

Tutoring is open to any 7th or 8th grade student who would like to get additional support to complete assignments, prepare for tests, and master academic skills.  GEAR UP tutors are available during lunch to help students.

Front of the Lunch Line Passes: Passes allow students to advance to the front of the lunch line, so they can return to the GEAR UP room and participate in tutoring.  Students can check out a pass in the GEAR UP room at the beginning of lunch.  Students who check out a pass and do not return to the GEAR UP room for tutoring risk loosing this privilege.

  1. WHAT ARE GEAR UP DOLLARS? Play money students can earn through their involvement in the program. 
  2. WHERE CAN I SPEND GEAR UP DOLLARS? At the GEAR UP Store in room T18. 
  3. HOW DO I EARN GEAR UP DOLLARS? Attending tutoring, and fieldtrips, caught Wearing GEAR UP or College attire on Fridays and demonstrating Good Character(8 Keys of Excellence)
